Spring Fling Recap, “Cheating” in Louisville, and Top 5 Racer Nicknames!

Luke & Jed lead off with a summary of the Galot Spring Fling and news from the first huge weekend of big dollar bracket racing in the pandemic-delayed season.  They spend a lot of the show detailing a strange and alarming situation from the Derby City $50k before touching on weekend results and stories from the C.P. Promotions $50k event in Texas, the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Dragway 42, and the NHRA Division 6 event in Seattle.  Then the duo closed with what has become a fun staple: their individual “Top 5.” This week’s Top 5: our favorite racer nicknames!

In this edition of “Throwback Thursday,” Luke and Kevin McKenna revisit 2001.  Obviously the dominating story of the year came on September 11.  The duo discusses where they were on that fateful day, the impacts on their lives, and (on a more trivial scale) the effect of 9/11 on the sport of drag racing.  As usual, they break down the biggest stories in the year of sportsman racing: from the NHRA professional ranks, to the Lucas Oil Series, the IHRA and big dollar bracket action.
