Tommy Phillips and his Philco Race Services team is proud to announce that Sterling Volkswagen (Abilene, TX) will join the team as an associate sponsor for the 2012 and 2013 NHRA seasons. Phillips, who will compete in NHRA Super Stock, Super Comp, and Super Gas with his K&N Engineering/CBS Arc Safe backed machines, is one of the most successful sportsman competitors in NHRA history, having amassed 25 national event victories and 7 NHRA Lucas Oil Division Championships. “We’re extremely excited to partner with Sterling Volkswagen for the upcoming seasons. Sterling Robertson and his team at Sterling Volkswagen are just as passionate about sportsman drag racing as we are, which made this an obvious alliance,” stated Phillips. Sterling Volkswagen is an established Volkswagen dealership in Abilene, TX that has been in business since 1983. Founder Sterling Robertson has been involved in some form of motorsports for his entire life, with a background in auto cross, dirt track competition, off road racing, and road racing. “We chose to get involved with Philco Race Services because they are quality team and I think Tommy will do a good job of promoting the sport and our business. He is John Force on a smaller scale,” said Robertson.
