Benton, IL: I-57 Dragstrip will host a full weekend of events this Memorial Day. After a Friday night test ‘n’ tune, the facility will play host to the annual Memorial Day Mega Bucks event, which features a $5,000 winners purse in Super Pro on Saturday, and a $2,000 winners purse on Sunday. Additional weekend classes include Footbrake and Quick 16. Sunday evening and all day Memorial Day Monday, I-57 Dragstrip will host a BRODIX ThisIsBracketRacing.com “Live” Driving School featuring instructors Luke Bogacki and Jason Lynch.

Driving School participants will be shuttled from the track to the Luke Bogacki Motorsports shop in Carterville Sunday evening for a night of classroom instruction that will feature a curriculum ranging from racing fundamentals to in-depth on-track strategy. Monday, participants will get the opportunity to implement the strategies discussed in class on the I-57 Dragstrip in their own competition vehicles; all under the watchful eyes of two of the most accomplished sportsman drivers in the sport.

“I truly believe that our driving schools offer advancement and knowledge for any open minded racer looking to improve their game,” said Bogacki. “Our curriculum is pretty broad; we discuss some basic fundamentals and work our way up to in-depth race strategy. Our class isn’t for beginners who have never been down the track before; it’s designed for current racers who want to take their racing to the next level. ThisIsBracketRacing.com currently has slots available in the I-57 Dragstrip Driving School. Tuition is $800, but Scott Bailey and the staff at I-57 is offering a $200 discount for any Driving School student who enters the Saturday and Sunday bracket events. For past TIBR “Live” graduates, tuition is $600 and the weekend entry discount is $100.
