Eric Bowling Wins 2012 Debut

Who would have thought that in March in the Midwest it would be Sunny and 80 degrees.  Well that was the case this past weekend and Eric Bowling took advantage of the weather by traveling to Cleves, Ohio to NHRA’s Edgewater Sports Park for his debut for the 2012 Season with his new ride.  Eric would start the season off in style taking the Blazer to the winners circle. The night didn't start off to promising for Bowling as the first round he fell to Benny Combs in a break out loss.  Bowling bounced back the next round with a win and seemed to settle into the new Blazer quite comfortably.  In round 4 he was paired with Division 3 Bracket Finals Champion Tammy Lovitt, Bowling would get the starting line advantage with a .005 which earned him the bye run into the semis. In the semis Bowling was paired with Brett Thompson, where again Bowling would get the starting line advantage for the win advancing him into the finals. In the Final Eric Bowling would face Rodney Johnson and his 1969 Dodge Dart. Bowling would get the starting line advantage .027 to Johnson’s .048 and go 7.152 on his 7.14 dial for the win. "I may have won 2 rounds all night and the truck won the other 4, I was all over the place on the tree and couldn't drive at all" Bowling said.  "All in all it was a great night and worth the trip but I have to be able to find the tree on a more consistent basis or its going to be a long year, We'll figure it out".

Bowling plans to head back to Edgewater this weekend weather permitting then start his season back home at Lyon's Raceway Park the following week.  Bowling would like to thank his sponsors and marketing partners Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels, K&N Engineering, Ohio Crankshaft, Cometic Gaskets, Spy Optics, Skaggs Transmissions, Don Cain, Eric Bowling Motorsports, Mother Lou, Wife Amy and Daughter Isabella.
