Benton, IL: The JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout is proud to once again align with Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels for this season’s second annual event. In 2012 MT will provide a fun new twist for JEGS SDCS competitors. Just like last season, Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels will provide a complimentary set of racing slicks to one lucky door car racer. This season, however, the prize will go to the driver who performs the best burnout during round 2 of Saturday’s eliminations! That driver will earn a certificate toward the MT racing slicks of their choice.

"How cool is this going to be?" That’s what co-promoter Luke Bogacki asked. "I’ve always said that burnouts and wheelies were the coolest aspects of drag racing. Thanks to FTI and MT, we get to award the racer who does the best of each at the JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout! Plus, I like the idea of hosting the burnout contest during an elimination round. Anyone can do a huge burnout in time trials! The question now is: ‘How much do you want these slicks?’ I expect it to add some entertainment value to what is already one of the most enjoyable racing weekends of the season."

The second annual JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout will take place July 21-22 at I-57 Dragstrip in Benton, IL. The door car-only event features a winners purse of $7500 each day, with pay back to fourth round losers. Two-day weekend entry is just $275. In addition to the main events, the JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout also hosts a pair of 100%+ payback bonus events: the APD Quick 16 and the Ohlins King Of Illinois Shootout.
