Bogacki to Sport New Car, New Look in 2015
Carterville, IL: When reigning NHRA Super Gas champion Luke Bogacki hits the track in 2015, it will be in a brand new car. The RacingRV’s backed, Charlie Stewart Race Cars built ’63 Corvette roadster that he drove to the 2014 NHRA Super Gas championship has been sold. In its place, the team has again contracted Stewart to build a similar ’63 Corvette bodied machine. RacingRV’s will return as the primary marketing partner of the Super Gas entry, and Bogacki says that his initial setup will be very similar to the combination that carried him to the title a year ago.
“Our new car will actually be a lot like the car that we just sold,” he expressed. “We’d be foolish to try to reinvent the wheel: Charlie Stewart Race Cars is building the car again, and it will feature a ’63 body from the same mold as our previous car. Obviously we had a great combination, and while I was hesitant to make any changes at all I do believe that technology and knowledge continues to improve: while our new car won’t be dramatically different, I do expect it to be just a little bit better than the last one.”
Bogacki’s new Corvette will feature the same drivetrain as his championship machine: a Huntsville Engine & Performance built 582 cubic inch powerplant featuring a BRODIX aluminum block and BRODIX “Head Hunter” cylinder heads, backed by a BTE Top Sportsman transmission and 9” torque converter.
In addition to his new RacingRV’s backed Super Gas entry, Bogacki will continue to field his American Race Cars Super Comp dragster, which will once again fly the K&N Filters colors in 2015. Despite winning the Super Gas title last season, Bogacki endured a disappointing season in Super Comp. After finishing in the top three of NHRA’s national rankings in each of his three previous Super Comp campaigns – Luke finished second in 2010, third in 2012, and won the title in 2013 – he finished outside the national top ten in 2014. The season also marked the first since 2008 in which he failed to capture a Super Comp victory on either the NHRA Mello Yello or NHRA Lucas Oil tours.
“We didn’t have a good season in Super Comp,” Bogacki quickly admitted. “That’s the nature of competition at this level; it doesn’t take many mistakes or close losses to make for a forgettable year. We’ve got a great car, and a really good team going forward. I’m grateful to K&N for continuing our alliance. That was their first year as the primary partner on our dragster and we failed to get K&N to the winner’s circle. Thankfully, they see the value that we bring on the track and off; winning races is just icing on the cake – but that certainly doesn’t change the fact that I want to win races!”
In addition to major marketing partners RacingRV’s and K&N Filters, Bogacki is proud to welcome back each and every associate marketing partner that was part of his 2014 championship season. Those partners include Watts Auto Diesel Service, Advanced Product Design, Bill Taylor Enterprises, Accelerated Graphics, Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels, Product Development Group – makers of AirTek gauges and Flo-Fast pumps, C.A.R.S. Protection Plus, and JEGS. The Luke Bogacki Motorsports team is also proud to announce that they have reached agreements with longtime supporting manufacturers Renegade Race Fuels and American Race Cars; both companies have increased their role with the LBM team and will be associate partners in 2015.
“Continuing relationships with each of our core partners is important to me,” Bogacki emphasized. “We’ve got a winning team, so consistency and continuity is always welcome. Obviously these core marketing partners see positive returns from our program and they value our relationship. It’s exciting to increase our alliance with American Race Cars and with Renegade Racing fuel this season as well. Both are manufacturers that we’ve worked hand-in-hand with for several years. I’ve driven American Race Cars dragsters exclusively since Mark Horton and Travis Colangelo went into business back in 2005; and we’ve burned Renegade Race Fuels for five seasons. We’ll release the details of those agreements soon.”
Bogacki plans to kick off his 2015 NHRA season with the NHRA Division 3 Lucas Oil Series opener at Lucas Oil Raceway, May 1-3. To keep up with the latest Luke Bogacki Motorsports news, follow Luke on Facebook (/Luke.Bogacki), Twitter (@LukeBogacki), and Instagram (@LukeBogackiMotorsports).
