New Ohlins Monthly Tutorial Available Now
Carterville, IL: Luke Bogacki’s sixty-seventh Ohlins monthly tutorial column has posted on ThisIsBracketRacing.com. This month, Bogacki provides a book report of sorts, summarizing his reading of Wooden, A Coaches Life, and applying some of the historic UCLA coaches principles to sportsman drag racing.
“Do I work harder than my opponents? I really have no idea. But I THINK that I work harder than my opponents, and that gives me confidence. It’s no different than Wooden’s teams. One player interviewed for the book admitted that he had no idea whether or not they actually practiced harder than their opponents and were in better physical condition. But his coach made them believe that they had and were, so they went into each game believing that they had the physical edge..”
Bogacki, the 33-year-old editor of ThisIsBracketRacing.com recently claimed the 2013 NHRA Lucas Oil Super Comp championship, and currently leads the 2014 standings in Super Gas. Prior to turning his focus to NHRA competition, he earned his reputation as one of the most successful big dollar bracket races in the country. With his 2013 world championship Bogacki is a 5-time top ten finisher in NHRA competition, and also has 5 IHRA top ten finishes. His 2013 NHRA Division 7 Super Comp crown marked his fourth NHRA division championship, which matches his four IHRA division titles. He’s earned a combined 15 career national event victories in NHRA and IHRA. Bogacki was voted the 2008 IHRA Sportsman Driver of the Year on the strength of an amazing season that resulted in an unprecedented top 5 national finish in three separate IHRA categories (Quick Rod, Top Dragster, and Stock Eliminator). Those accolades complement a host of big dollar bracket racing victories and accomplishments that include over 50 individual event wins of $5,000 or more, and points championships within the DragRaceResults.com Bracket Series, B&M Racers Appreciation Series, Southern Super Tens Series, Tenn-Tuck Triple Crown, and more.
