Carterville, IL: Luke Bogacki’s sixty-sixth Ohlins monthly tutorial column has posted on This month, Bogacki explains his thoughts on redistributing or “splitting” the advertised purse in his column titled “Purse Redistribution.”

“Over the course of my 20+ year racing career, I’ve found myself in just about every situation you could imagine. I’ve run $10,000-to-win finals with no split, and I’ve split in races that paid $200-to-win. I’ve been involved in races where the final 14 entrants agreed on a purse redistribution, and I’ve had racers refuse to split with me in the final round (I’ve even turned down a few myself). I’ve had competitors upset that I didn’t want to split, and offended that I asked to chop the purse. Every situation is unique.” -Luke Bogacki
